Motu

Last year our class cycled from matawai to opotiki. It took 3 days to bike all the way. We stayed the nights in woolsheds. The girls always got the best place to sleep while the boys had to sleep in the sheep pens. We had to climb up and over a massive hill and then free ride all the way down for probably 5km. On the way down 3 people crashed and one of them had a big scarp on their leg. For the final 2 kms we were biking in the sand dunes and it was a really good way to relax after 3 days of hard riding. When we got to optiki we sat down and ate the remaining food (slices, cakes, lollies, apples).
This ride is something I will never forget.

  1. Kia ora Amy. Sounds like it was an awesome trip! I'm sure your teachers would have loved the crazy fun that you had on this expedition. Looking forward to reading some more of your posts as the year goes on. Next time you could use some of your amazing animation skills to tell the story of the best part of the the Motu trip from last year? Or the funniest :) Lekker dag, Mr4E

  2. Hi Amy, It sounds like you had a pretty awsome time eating all the food. What did you sleep on. Next time you could explain what you did in between biking there.:)

Thank you for your positive, thoughtful, helpful comments:
Positive - something done well
Thoughtful - a sentence to let us know you actually read/watched or listened to what we had to say
Helpful - give some ideas for next time or ask a question you want to know more about

I am a student at Gisborne Intermediate. This is a place where I will be able to share my learning with you. Please note....some work won't be edited - just my first drafts, so there may be some surface errors. I would love your feedback, comments, thoughts and ideas.
